With all the talk of women being shamed for their body hair, it's truly a gift when celebs actually get candid about their personal grooming rituals. Not just because we're unabashedly curious, but because we're baffled that the subject is still considered taboo. Here, we celebrate the stars who go on the record about their hair maintenance—from waxing tales to reclaiming the bush.
On view in the gallery is an expansive selection of work in diverse media by six artists who unapologetically create representations of female sexuality. The history of women in art has been, in large part, the history of women as subject or as muse. The artists included in CUNT make work that runs counter to this dominant history, asserting instead that women can be both image and image-maker. The exhibition argues that methods of representation have an impact upon the interpretation of bodies and histories, in a way that can challenge governing understandings of female sexuality.

Pushed underground, banished from conventional language, cunt has long since been appropriated by patriarchs and misogynists and used as an utterance that disgusts or insults in the worst possible way. But cunt has not always been the most taboo word around. It was originally a term used to revere the wisdom of women, in particular the wisdom of her genitals.
It must have happened sometime in the last decade because the amount of time, energy, money and emotion both genders spend on abolishing every hair from their genitals is astronomical. The genital hair removal industry, including medical professionals who advertise their speciality services to those seeking the "clean and bare" look, is booming. But why pick on the lowly pubic hair?
She also had an armpit hair that measured 32 inches. As opposed to the West, where women are relentlessly pube-shamed and are always waxing themselves to the point where their external genitals are as smooth as a baby seal, Asian women—particularly those in South Korea—pay top dollar to have pubic hair implanted onto their crotches to give them that fuller, lusher, more natural look. They were also popular in the sexually repressed Victorian era.
